The Heartland Begins to Vote : Nebraska Has Already Started Voting

Meanwhile, voters began casting their ballots at election offices across Nebraska. In Douglas County, the election office is in Omaha at 225 N. 115th St.

To request an early voting ballot in Douglas County, go to votedouglascounty.com. You must print out a form and mail it to the election office.

Upcoming election deadlines:

» Oct. 19: Last day to register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles and other agencies. It’s also the deadline for mail-in voter registrations to be postmarked.

» Oct. 26: Last day to register to vote in person at local election offices.

» Oct. 31: Last day to request an early ballot. The deadline is 4 p.m.

» Nov. 5: Last day to vote early in person at election offices.

Nebraskans can turn in early ballots in person or mail them to election offices.

Those who request early ballots cannot vote at their polling place on Election Day, Nov. 6, but they can turn in the ballots by the close of the polls that day.
